The V3.0 is the newest model of the previously loved Mountain Buggy Duet, replacing the previous V2.5 model from 2015. With subtle changes and brand new colours, the Duet V3.0 and Duet V2.5 are different, yet hold some of the same great characterises that we’ve grown to love.
Both suitable for use from birth to approximately 4 years, the Mountain Buggy Duets are ideal for all-terrain walks, whilst their 63cm width makes them also perfectly sized for around town. Both the Mountain Buggy Duet V3.0 and Mountain Buggy Duet 2.5 are side-by-side double pushchairs suitable for use from birth to 4 years, or 0 – 18kg. Both seat units on each pushchair have a near-flat recline and individual 5-point harnesses.
The new Duet V3.0 has an adjustable leg rest with two positions and is now available in the new colours/patterns of Marine, Grid and Year of the Rooster. Taller seat backs are also a new feature of the Duet V3.0, now with a height of 64cm. Making it ideal for taller children.
The Mountain Buggy Duet V3.0 weighs in at 14.7kg compared to the previous Duet V2.5 model of 15.5kg. Included with both the Duet’s is a padded bumper bar, two reversible seat liners and a bottle holder. Both pushchairs have a large under seat storage basket. The Duet V3.0 also has two extra storage pockets attached to the rear of the under seat storage basket.
Each seat, in both pushchairs, has an independent, individually adjustable sun canopy. Within each canopy there is a peek-a-boo window, that is silent to open and close. The difference within these hoods though is this window. There are mesh windows within the V2.5’s canopy, compared to the V3’s which are plastic and magnetically closed. This new style window makes a huge difference during wetter or colder weather. There is also a flick-out visor, for a little extra protection during the hotter months in each canopy.
Although both pushchairs have a one-handed fold, they are different processes. On both pushchairs there is a mechanism underneath the leg rests of the seat unit, which is used to fold. The V3.0 requires a push of a button and twist of the silver bar, whilst and the V2.5 needs a click and pull of a button. Both the Duet V3.0 and Duet V2.5 have independent standing folds, with the V3.0 being slightly smaller in height by 7cm.
The wheels are all 10” air-filled tyres, on both pushchairs. The front wheels can be locked or left to swivel, with the clip to do this being updated and made easier on the V3.0 model. Both the Mountain Buggy Duet V3.0 and V2.5 have ‘kerb pop’ technology, which aids in the pushing up kerbs and onto paths. These pushchairs were made to go outdoors, and love tough and rough terrain.
On the Duet V3.0 there is a brand new hand brake. It’s ideal for slowing down the buggy when on the go and is really easy to use without having to fully stop the buggy.
Both double pushchairs have foot brakes that click on and off. There is also a tether strap on the handlebar of both buggies and adjustable handlebar, to suit any height pusher.
Both pushchairs are car seat and carrycot compatible, making it parent facing. With the use of Car Seat Adaptors, the Mountain Buggy Duet V3.0 and Duet V2.5 can take either one or two car seats at once. There is also a carrycot available for both models: the Mountain Buggy Duet Carrycot Plus. It has three different configurations, including a lie-flat carrycot, incline and parents facing seat mode.
You can tell that both pushchairs have been made to last and keep your family comfortable for longer. The new features of the Duet V3.0 have really improved its ease of use and storage practicality. Suitable from newborn to 4 years, if it’s an all-terrain double pushchair you’re after then the Duet is definitely a model of pushchair you should try out.
